Who this is not for
- During pregnancy.
- Anyone with active acne, eczema or a skin infection in the area.
- Anyone who scars easily, including keloid scarring.
- Anyone taking oral isotretinoin, or who has taken it in the last six months.
What happens on the day
Numbing cream first, then a device passed across the area in sections. It feels like sandpaper and a vibration, uncomfortable rather than painful, and the forehead is the part most people mention afterward.
The redness is the visible part and it looks like windburn. It is gone by the second day for most people and the third for some.
The result is not in the redness. It arrives four to six weeks later and it builds across a course rather than appearing after one appointment.
Aftercare
- The skin is red and warm for 24 to 48 hours, like windburn.
- No make-up for 24 hours.
- No gym, sauna or swimming for 48 hours.
- Sunscreen every day for a fortnight.
